How laser works
and the difference between laser and IPL
Toss the razors, depilatory creams & get rid of ingrowns.
The laser light emitted by the laser is absorbed by the pigment located deep in the hair follicle. The laser pulses to heat up the hair to impede the follicle's ability to regrow! We choose the optimal laser for you during the FREE consultation.
Did you know that an IPL device is not a hair removal laser device?!
Only laser will give you laser hair removal results. An IPL is a device built for photo rejuvenation, therefore those who use it for photo epilation have much less success in removing hair definitely as with a real laser.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL:
The area must be shaved the day before or the day of treatment.
Avoid sun exposure and Self-tanner for two weeks and/or tanning for 4 weeks prior to your treatment.
Do not tweeze or wax 4 weeks prior to treatment.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
At the time of consultation, either the Diode Laser and/or the YAG laser will be recommended by our experienced skin care therapist in order to determine which laser will be most effective for your skin type. You will also be informed of what to expect before, during and after your laser treatments.
Most clients feel no discomfort as they undergo laser hair removal. Others describe the feeling as a pinch. Treatment time varies depending on the region and the laser used. With the Light Sheer Duet, we are able to complete a back or full legs in as little as 15 - 30 minutes.
Over the next month, your treated hair will fall out. A series of treatments is required for best results. Sessions are optimally every 6 to 12 weeks, depending on the treatment area, to allow for a new cycle of hair growth to appear. Unwanted hair can be maintained in between treatments with shaving. However, methods which remove the hair follicle, such as waxing or tweezing, are not recommended.
